Grants
Charitable contributions are divided between The Good Things, For Life Foundation and the Corporation. Both invest in transformational partnerships with nonprofit organizations to co-create solutions that strengthen communities and expand opportunity.
Rather than traditional, transactional grantmaking, our approach centers on deep collaboration bringing together nonprofit expertise, community voice, and GE Appliances’ people, capabilities, and resources to design and scale solutions that drive lasting impact. We believe the most powerful outcomes emerge when organizations work side by side, learning, building, and innovating together.
Our grantmaking is rooted in equity, access, and sustainability, with a focus on communities where GE Appliances employees live and work.
Creating Impact Across Communities
The Good Things, For Life foundation focuses grants in four areas:
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
Opening doors to education and career pathways by inspiring the next generation of innovators.
Food Access
Partnering with local organizations to ensure families have access to healthy, nutritious meals.
Housing Security
Supporting safe, warm, and affordable housing so families can build stable futures.
Disaster Response
Providing rapid relief and resources to help communities recover when crisis strikes.
Our Partnership Approach
We fund nonprofit partners who are eager to co-design solutions, test new ideas, and engage in long-term problem solving. Grants through the Good Things, For Life Foundation often extend beyond financial support to include:

Eligibility and Funding Guidelines
To be eligible for funding, organizations must:
- Be recognized as a tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
- Be operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, or educational purposes
- Demonstrate alignment with the Foundation’s mission, values, and partnership mode
Application Process
Neither the Foundation nor the Corporation accepts unsolicited grant applications. Grant applications are by invitation only and are accepted during designated submission periods. An invitation code is required to begin the application process.
